Meet Deborah Kafoury
Deborah Kafoury has been active in Oregon politics since she was knee high to a grasshopper. She served as Oregon State Representative from N/NE Portland from 1999-2004 and House Democratic Leader from 2001-2004. In her spare time she serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Transition Projects, is a member of the Duniway Elementary School Foundation and serves on the advisory board for REACH Community Development Corporation.
Previously, Deborah was Field Director for the 1995 Portland Public Schools Bond Measure, Fundraiser for Erik Sten’s campaign for the Portland City Council in 1996 and a lobbyist for numerous clients including Oregon Remodelers Association, Oregon Physical Therapy Association, The Wildlife Society, American Fisheries Society and the Oregon Architects Association in the 1997 legislative session.
In addition to her current volunteer work, she previously volunteered for the Raphael House, the SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) program at Vernon Elementary School, WIN-PAC and X-PAC .
Deborah is married to Nik Blosser and they are the parents of three children.
